Greek Myths

I love being an illustrator but every now and then commissions can get a bit repetitive and I don't feel like I'm flexing my artistic muscles, so I find it helps to take a break and do something for myself. As a kid I used to love tales and movies based on Greek Myths, I find they're incredibly visual stories and really tap into the little boy in me with their tales of warriors vs monster its easy to see the influence on modern day comics. The top one is from the story 'Jason and the Golden Fleece' when Jason battled the dead army, the second is from the story in which Theseus battled the Minotaur in the Labyrinth. Both these stories scared the living crap out of me when I was a kid, so I decided to stick with a simple black and white platte to add a creepy atmosphere, plus it was a good chance to practise my brush skills.
